Megan knows what it is...
I created Tacomaness to foster that sense of place and community that I’ve felt over the past 7 years living in Tacoma. The word Tacomaness; borrowed from my good friends at Beautiful Angle, who borrowed it from their friends, seemed to sum up my intension perfectly and hopefully you have all read my definition. I invited others to tell us how they define Tacomaness and Megan is the first to give us her view.
Megan Doherty writes:
“Tacomaness is the fact that this place is in the bones of everyone who lives here. We are Tacoma people, and we are proud of it. Anyone else can laugh at our city as much as they want, because chances are they could never be one of us anyways. This place is like a secret shared by everyone who has ever lived here. I am not going to be here forever, or I am at least leaving for a while, but I genuinely cannot imagine having spent the first 18 years of my life anyplace else.”
