Neko Case a Tacoma Favorite

Did you know Neko Case is playing in Seattle soon? Neither did I, but now you know. How about this… did you know that Neko Case and Tacoma have a lot of history? Don’t believe me? Give a listen to Thrice All American from Furnace Room Lullaby.
Here is a little of what Neko had to say about her Tacoma tribute song from an interview at the Onion AV club:
“Thrice All American” is more about a town, and there are other people’s experiences in there too, ‘cause I grew up with a lot of other people. We were all very poor, and we really loved our town, so it was this weird camaraderie we all had. That camaraderie wasn’t just generated by myself; it was me and a lot of other people that I knew. It was for them and about them as well. Whereas this song is just me. It’s not so dark as some people think; it’s a little more smartass.
I’m sure there will be more than a couple Tacoma folks heading up for this show. Here are the details.
