What is Tacomaness? The truth is we’re not completely sure … but that’s okay, it’s probably best that we don’t have a specific definition for you.
Tacomaness is going to mean different things to different people so we’ll start with our take.

... There is Tacomaness in being within walking distance from your favorite pub, beer and friends…
... It’s about knowing your neighbors; at least well enough to ask or lend a hand…

... It’s volunteering your time and money to feed and clothe those in need…
Its not all sunshine and lollipops, Tacomaness is also …
... The monster truck rally at the dome this SUNDAY-SUNDAY-SUNDAY!!!
... That smell that most of us don’t notice anymore and the fact that we can’t convince our Seattle friends it’s mostly gone…
... The guy who forgets he’s given you the same elaborate story 4 times about how he only needs a couple of bucks…
... Communities that have taken on far more than their fair share of the state’s social burdens…
... Being number 1. Number 1 most wired. Number 1 for violent and property crime rates. Number 1 for registered sex offenders…
... Being number 6; having the state’s 6th largest police department…
So Tacomaness is about the good and the bad, it’s about people and community and a place that matters …
So what is Tacomaness.com?
The idea for Tacomaness.com started when a very tall and bearded Tacoma resident decided to finish his degree in Urban Studies at the University of Washington in Tacoma. Armed with new ideas, a webserver and the great examples of his neighbors and friends he designed this website with the hopes of bringing people together and giving them a place to be speak their mind.
With any luck Tacomaness.com becomes another great place that is of and for the people of Tacoma and a place to come together and promote community: A place to share your experiences, stories, and a place to come to laugh or to bitch.
