Tacoma Film Club
Speaking of things I didn’t know yesterday and thanks to the Stadium Newsletter i’ve also just stumbled across the Tacoma Film Club. I’ve never been apart of a book or film club but I certainly think it would be an interesting way to meet new people. Is anyone out there a part of the club? How is it?? For those of you as intrigued as I am here is some of the info from their web site.
The Tacoma Film Club is an organization in Tacoma, Washington designed to celebrate and promote the art of film. We hold monthly meetings set up much like a Book Club. Each month we select three films to watch, typically one theater film and two films on DVD or VHS. At each function we discuss the films seen from the previous month, all in a comfortable atmosphere. Highbrows and novices alike are welcome!
What do you get as a member of the Tacoma Film Club? – A groovy membership card that you can show your friends. – Free admission to all film-club sponsored events. – Discounts at the Grand Cinema theater (606 Fawcett Ave, Tacoma) to see club-chosen films. – $1.00 rental fees from Stadium Video (North 1st and Broadway, Tacoma) on all club-chosen VHS and DVD selections. – Special club parties and screening events. – And the chance to meet other cinephiles from the greater Tacoma area who enjoy viewing and discussing films.
Annual membership is a reasonable $20.00 ($10 for students). We are currently accepting new and renewal membership applications for 2006. Be the envy of your neighborhood…join today.
