Back to School
No, the Tacoma School District didn’t pimp their rides this summer (it’d be cool if they did), but today my world is back in alignment. I’m not the only poor soul who’s forced to wake up every week day morning and drag myself into work. That’s right schools back in session! My excited and slightly stressed wife returns to Jason Lee for her second year. She loves it there and can’t say enough great things about her fellow teachers and their leadership.
There are other reasons to be excited for this school year. For example, Stadium High school is welcoming back their student body after a 2 year 100 million dollar renovation. It’s also Stadium’s 100th birthday and there will be 3 days of partying Tacoma style, starting Friday September 15th. Expect a parade with the class of 1956, a Guinness world record attempt, a homecoming football game and rock concert in the bowl. Visit www.celebratestadium.com to find the full list of events.
My last thought… now that we’ve had a while to get use to the new brick building that robbed us of a spectacular view of this historic landmark how do you feel about it? I’d like to hear from students, teachers or parents how the new facilities are being received.
