Commencement Bay Maritime Fest
The banners and posters are everywhere or so it seems and i’m easily convinced – count me in. I had a great time at the tall ships festival and events like these remind me of my childhood adventures in the Sea Scouts. We’d spend entire weekends at similar events in Olympia, ahhh the memories – mostly of the smell of diesel fuel from our old ship.
You never know what you’ll find with Google some times. While searching for the Maritime Fest web site I found all kinds of interesting things. My favorite? An image gallery from the 2003 event and why so special? Two word – Pirates, Arggghhhh! We never had pirates in Olympia and obviously i’m bitter.
For those who need more info the Maritime Fest is this weekend, September 16-17 on the waterfront in downtown Tacoma. See you there… matey.
