Tacoma Film Festival

Apparently we love more than just condos and antique cars here in Tacoma, we also love film! I’m a big fan myself and while I didn’t compete in this year’s 72 hour film competition I plan on doing so next year. I’ll also be catching as many films as I can during Tacoma’s first annual film festival.
When is this you ask? It’s October 6-12 and here are the details from their web site.
The Grand Cinema welcomes you to the First Annual Tacoma Film Festival, where more than 50 films will play over the course of one week from all over the world. In addition to the Grand, films will also be screening at Tacoma Art Museum, UW Tacoma, and Stadium High School’s new performing arts theater. We are happy to have several filmmakers attending the screenings of their films, and we encourage you to keep checking this site for updates on filmmakers and discussions. (See below) Thanks for visiting, and we hope to see you at the festival.
We’ll see you there!

Hi,
My name is John Garnett, I was the winner of “Best Film” and “Best location” for the 2006 72 HR. Fest. a few weeks after the win I moved to Hollywood and have been flying high ever since! I saw that you are accepting films from out of state for the Tacoma Film Fest. I have a short film that no on has seen yet and was wondering if i could submit it. I work at ABC Studios so i hope it is open to all industry professtioals too. Please let me know.
